Standard Services

Wyerless.NET Solutions provides a broad array of comprehensive consulting services in both product development and engineering processes.

Product Development:

  • Requirements Analysis – Our broad experience and expertise enables us to take a total system approach to product development – starting with requirements analysis. We find that many products fail due to a lack of insight into the core requirements that the product must achieve – not just the functional ones but other important dimensions including reliability, extensibility, internationalization, security, usability, performance, and standards adherence to name but a few. Without these insights, it is difficult to build a successful and enduring product.
  • Architecture – Translating requirements into a functioning product requires a good architecture. Developing product components without one usually results in Frankenstein – a collection of parts that are difficult to integrate into a total functioning system that meets the requirements. We take a top-down approach to architecture that insures it is closely tied to requirements, leverages robust technologies, and builds on available 3 rd party components.
  • Design & Development – our approach to design & development is bottom-up. A good architecture dictates the technical requirements of each component of the system – a good design supports those requirements. We build a strong foundation of components and layer higher levels of function into a robust system.
  • Software, Firmware & Hardware – a total system will usually be composed of various implementations that cover software, firmware, and hardware components. We understand how to make the correct tradeoffs that support performance and extensibility.

Engineering Process:

  • Evaluation – external evaluation of a product or project plan, engineering department or product specification can be an extremely valuable service if performed in a professional manner. It is human nature to be apprehensive to external reviews especially when they have been brought in by upper management. Having the technical and management expertise to accomplish these reviews isn’t sufficient to make the process effective. Our ability to work with the staff and allay their natural fears is equally important for getting good critiques into your company.
  • Design Review – of all the external services that can be purchased from a consulting firm this one has the potential to be the most effective if properly executed. An external set of expert eyes frequently has a clearer view of a design than those who partook in its creation. A required and complimentary skill is the ability to conduct the review without causing stress or hostility with the embedded staff. We conduct these reviews in unique ways and the issues we uncover are accepted and addressed by the staff.
  • Project Management – our principles have an extensive track record of management at all levels. Whether you need additional management resources for a segment of a project, cross department management, or senior level management we can provide the required skills.
  • Problem Remediation – consultants in general have an advantage over the internal staff when it comes to finding a tough set of issues. This advantage is distance; i.e. external resources have had no part in design decisions or ownership of any aspect of the product. This allows them to see problems as they really are and not be biased by issues of design ownership. The extra plus that Wyerless principles have is we understand the distance advantage and know how to interview the technical staff such that they become allies in the solution as well as helping us pinpoint the technical issues. While it would be an attactive notion to think we could walk into a situation and put our fingers on a problem instantly, the cold hard reality is we are far more effective applying our technical skills after working with your staff. This process allows us to more effectively get to the heart of the issue and quickly.
